Upset by the fact that their mother is getting married for the seventh time and that he's going to have to move out of her attic, J.D.'s brother Dan (Tom Cavanagh), comes to visit (and torture) J.D. To make matters worse, he spends the day with J.D. at the hospital, with a little help from Dr. Cox. After getting on J.D.'s nerves, Dan decides to head back home, but not before giving Dr. Cox a lecture about how he has turned J.D. from an eager, aspiring doctor to a cynical guy who seems to despise what he does. Cox actually listens to what he has to say.
Elliot really misses Sean since he's been away. They try having phone sex, but it isn't the same. In order to make some extra money to pay for a trip to New Zealand to visit Sean, Elliot decides to moonlight at another job. Dr. Kelso has declared that it's strictly against company policy, but most doctors do it anyway. Carla tells her about a position at the veterinary hospital where she moonlights. Things go well until Dr. Kelso brings in his dog, Baxter. He's surprised to see Carla and Elliot working there. He suspends them. They enlist Ted's help in getting their suspension lifted. But Kelso has another trick up his sleeve. He has his dog Baxter and Ted respond to random commands. Baxter performs better than Ted, so the girls remain suspended. Elliot and Carla plead their case to Kelso. He gives in and lifts their suspensions and they're back at the veterinary clinic the next night. |
