Carla's little brother Mark (Freddy Rodriguez) has come for a visit. She's happy to see him, but Turk is a little wary because Mark has had it in for him ever since Turk mistook him for a valet attendant at Carla's mother's funeral. Mark and Carla always converse in Spanish, so Turk assumes that Mark can't speak English. Turk is shocked when Mark finally does speak to him in English. When he tells Carla, Mark goes back to speaking Spanish. Mark later admits to Carla that he's been speaking English for a while, but didn't tell her because Spanish is the one bond they have since their mother died.

Back at the hospital, J.D. gets a vote of confidence from Dr. Cox, who wants him to back him up during his transition to Residency Director. Later in the elevator, he encounters Danni (Tara Reid) an attractive woman who is having a conversation with herself. They run into each other later in the cafeteria. She just broke up with her boyfriend, and J.D. is still pining over Elliot, so they agree to stop talking and thinking about their exes. After realizing that Elliot is really in love with Sean, J.D. turns his sights to Danni. But Danni stops by to say goodbye. Her trip with her sister has ended earlier than she planned, so she's going back home.

J.D. runs into Danni by accident. She is staying one more day so she can have a last-minute dinner with her sister. Then, Danni's sister shows up, walking hand-in-hand with Dr. Cox -- it's Jordan!
