J.D. and Danni (Tara Reid) have now cemented their relationship by going out on a few dates and sleeping together. Jordan thinks that the two of them are a cute couple while Dr. Cox has to keep himself from getting sick thinking about them. Dr. Cox’s mood doesn’t improve when Danni announces that she and Jordan want the boys to take them to the carnival. Wanting to make everyone feels as miserable as he does, Dr. Cox spills the beans to Danni that J.D. and Jordan slept together in the past. He makes this announcement just as the ferris wheel they are riding in breaks down. Danni appears to take the news in stride, since it happened before she and J.D. met. She even admits that she’s falling in love with him, despite the fact that he vomited on her shoes. But when he acts like he didn’t hear her “I love you” comment, she gives J.D. the cold shoulder when she sees him at the hospital the next day. They later make up.
Meanwhile, J.D. and Turk notice that Carla and Elliot have become close friends. Carla even convinces Elliot to wax her legs for the first time, no matter how painful it really is. Their budding new friendship is tested after Carla advises Elliot to give her patient, Mrs. Koenings, a sleep medication that could cause side effects. Sure enough, Mrs. Koenings has a bad reaction to the drug, causing Elliot to distrust Carla. Turk tells Carla that although she is the boss of everybody outside the hospital, in the hospital, the doctors have the final say. J.D.'s new patient, Jill has fainted in her apartment, so he and Dr. Cox are looking for the cause. The tests indicate pesticide poisoning, but Jill can’t remember being exposed to anything. Not until later on do Cox and J.D. realize that she gave them clues all along - she was feeling depressed and tried to commit suicide. When you only listen to a patient for fifteen seconds you sometimes don’t hear everything. Finally, Dr. Kelso ruptures his ear drums after using a defective stethoscope. For a shot period of time, everyone is able to say exactly what they feel about him without him hearing it. |
